Why we built Ehsiblak

Many people working in the Gulf reach the end of a contract without knowing what they are owed. The rules differ from country to country: which wage the end-of-service gratuity (EOSB) is based on, what happens if you resign, whether there is a cap. Several have changed recently: Oman’s new labour law, Bahrain moving gratuity payments to the Social Insurance Organization, and the UAE ending the reduction for resignation. Many calculators we found give a number without explaining it, or still apply old rules.

What you will find here

• An end-of-service calculator for each of the six GCC countries, and a comparison of their rules.
• VAT calculators for Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Oman, to add VAT to a price or take it out.
• A zakat calculator for personal wealth in all six Gulf currencies.

Each result comes as an “estimated settlement slip” that shows the steps and the article of law applied, and that you can print or share as a link.

How we work

We read the law and the official pages first, write each country’s rules into a single data file that both the calculator and the comparison read, and test the calculator against worked examples. Under every calculator you will find the sources we opened and the date of the last review. The details are on the methodology page.

What we do not offer

Ehsiblak does not give legal or tax advice or religious rulings, and it is not linked to any authority. Results are estimates based on the published law; your contract, your employer’s policy or a court decision can change the amount. Please read the disclaimer before relying on any figure.

The site is free

The calculators are free and need no sign-up. We may show ads in the future to cover our costs; they will never appear inside a calculator or a result, and they will never change a number. The privacy policy explains what happens to your data.
